Texas Tech Red Raiders (2-0) at No. 2 Texas Longhorns (2-0)

Opening Line: Texas -17 points O/U 67

Time: 8 PM ET Saturday September 19,2009 on ABC

In a HUGE Big 12 game in the Lone Star State this Saturday night the Red Raiders of Texas Tech hit the road to play the Texas Longhorns. Last season the Red Raiders crushed the National Title hopes of the Longhorns with a TD in the last seconds of the game at Tech. This season the Longhorns look to get to the BCS title game and this home win will not only get them closer to that goal, but it will also take care of a little revenge issue to the Red Raiders for last year's big loss.

Last week the Longhorns crushed Wyoming 41-10 while the Red Raiders demolished Rice 55-10. Sure, the Red Raiders no longer have Michael Crabtree and that QB named Graham, but they still have a legit offense. The Longhorns are stacked and have one of the best offenses in the nation, so this game should not be a defensive battle.

The Longhorns are led by Heisman candidate QB Colt McCoy (654 yds 5 TD 2 INT) and his main targets are WR's Jordan Shipley (15 rec 241 yds 1 TD) and Dan Buckner (11 rec 148 yds 1 TD). The Longhorns rushing attack is led by Vondrell McGee (141 yds 1 TD). The Red Raiders are led by QB Taylor Potts (861 yds 9 TD 3 TD) and his main targets are WR's Lyle Leong (13 rec 172 yds 3 TD) and Detron Lewis (11 rec 169 yds 1 TD). The Red Raiders rushing attack is led by Baron Batch (42 yds 1 TD). The Red Raiders play a pass-happy game, as after only 2 games this season they rank 1st in passing yards, but 114th in rushing yards. The Longhorns defense is not great, but solid and they will have to contain Potts and not allow him to put up big passing numbers. Texas would generally love to get into a shootout with the offense they have, but in this game they will probably look to control the game by running the ball more in order to keep the dynamic offense of the Red Raiders on the sidelines. The Longhorns have the better D so the Red Raiders have to score a ton of points in order to win this game.

McCoy has to have a good game not only through the air, but also setting up the Longhorns rushing attack. Potts can't have any turnovers in the game and put up huge numbers in order to pull the shocker in Austin this weekend.

The Marasoft Pick: Texas Tech +17 points
