Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. Oklahoma Sooners Betting Pick
Opening Line: Oklahoma -6.5
Time: 3:30 PM EST Saturday October 26, 2013 on FOX
Texas Tech is undefeated and the 10th ranked team in the nation, but are they for real? Their only win over a ranked team came over a TCU team that is only 3-4 this season and we will see how good they are in the next few weeks, as after Oklahoma they face the ranked teams of Baylor and Oklahoma State in 2 of their next 3 games.
While it is no surprise the Red Raiders have the nationís 2nd ranked passing offense it is a surprise they have a good defense ranking 16th only giving up an average of 18.7 ppg.
Oklahoma got over their big loss to Texas in the Red River rivalry game with a win over Kansas last week, but they did not look great in beating a 2-4 Jayhawks' team. Their defense ranks 9th in the nation, but they gave up 36 points to Texas and 19 points to a weak Kansas team.
In their last games Texas Tech beat West Virginia 37-27 and Oklahoma beat Kansas 34-19.
Texas Tech is 5-2 ATS with an Over/Under record of 5-2 and Oklahoma is 3-4 ATS with an Over/Under record of 3-4.
Last season OU beat Tech 41-20.
With Baker Mayfield still nursing a knee injury Davis Webb will get the start and he has played well this season and has passed for over 400 yards in his last 2 games. Tech has a deep WR corps with 4 players with over 390 receiving yards led by Jace Amaro, who has 56 catches for 742 yards with 3 TD.
The Oklahoma pass defense has been solid this season, but their rushing offense has really struggled in the last 2 games. In the Texas game they gave up 255 rushing yards and in the Kansas game they gave up 185 rushing yards. However, Tech does not have a great rushing attack with the top 2 RB's of Kenny Williams and DeAndre Washington each averaging less than 4 yards per carry this season.
Oklahoma Blake Bell had a decent game against Kansas and he has a decent WR corps, but in his last 2 games he has 2 TD and 3 INT. Tech had not really faced a team with a solid offense until last week against West Virginia when they gave up 254 passing yards.
Tech's run defense is key in this game facing an OU rushing offense that ranks 17th in the nation. In the WVU win the Red Raiders gave up 183 rushing yards.Betting Trends
