Texas A&M Aggies vs. Missouri Tigers Betting Pick
Opening Line: Missouri -5
Time: 7:45 PM EST Saturday November 30, 2013 on ESPN
The Aggies had their BCS hopes dashed with last week's loss to LSU and now they can kill Missouri's chances for a BCS game with a win. If Mizzou wins they will win the SEC East and play the winner of the Alabama vs. Auburn game for the conference title.
Not only did the BCS game go out the window with last week's loss, but so did Johnny Manziel's bid for a 2nd Heisman, as he was only 16/41 for 224 yards with 1 TD and 2 INT. However, there is a good chance he will get back on track in this game, as the Tigers' pass defense only ranks 113th in the nation. It will be key that he has time to find his targets since Mizzou has one of the best pass rushes in the nation.
Last season in the last game Texas A&M was at home and crushed Missouri 59-29.
In their last games Missouri beat Ole Miss 24-10 and Texas A&M lost to LSU 34-10.
Texas A&M is 5-6 ATS with an Over/Under record of 6-3 and Missouri is 9-1-1 ATS with an Over/Under record of 6-5.
Missouri gave up 244 passing yards last week to Ole Miss, but only on an average of 5.8 yards per reception and they did not give up a passing TD and had 1 pick. Manziel has a solid WR corps led by star WR Mike Evans, who is averaging over 21.5 yards per catch and at 6'5” he creates match up problems for any opposing secondary.
Manziel is an elusive QB that will have to show that in this game facing a Tigers' pass rush that has 4th most sacks in the nation.
Mizzou has a good run defense ranking 13th in the nation and Manziel leads the Aggies rushing attack. 2nd leading rusher Ben Malena is the e2nd leading rusher, but has only gained 31 rushing yards in his last 2 games.
James Franklin did not have a big game in his first action in 6 weeks in the win over Ole Miss, but he did complete 12/19 passes for 142 yards with 0 TD and 1 INT. The Tigers rushed for 260 yards against Ole Miss with Henry Josey rushing for 95 yards with 2 TD.
If Texas A&M repeats their defensive performance from last week Manziel will have to light up the scoreboard for the Aggies to win. They gave up 195 passing yards with 2 TD and did not have any picks and they were torched on the ground giving up 324 rushing yards. Overall, the Texas A&M pass defense ranks 83rd in the nation and their run defense ranks only ranks 107th.Betting Trends
