Tennessee Titans (2-12) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-12)
Well, not much at stake in this Thursday night game except for bragging rights in the AFC South. No matter what happens in this division match up each of these struggling teams will get a high pick in the next NFL draft. The Titans are the 3-point road underdogs, but one of their 2 wins on the season was at home facing Jacksonville.
The Titans have lost 8 straight games and that streak began after the win over the Jags.
In their last games the Jags lost to the Baltimore Ravens 20-12 and the Titans lost to the New York Jets 16-11.
The Titans are 3-10-1 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 6-8 and the Jags are 4-9-1 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 7-7.
On the season the Jags are 2-5 at home and the Titans are 1-6 on the road.
The Jags have lost 2 in a row and in 4 of their last 5 games their offense has really struggled. They are still sticking with rookie QB Blake Bortles, but he has failed to impress on the season. He has more INT than TD and in the loss to the Ravens in he did not have a TD, had 1 INT, and was sacked 8 times. He does not have a good WR corps, and will be facing a Tennessee pass defense that ranks 18th in the league.
The one big weakness, to say the least, of the Titansí D is their run defense, which ranks dead last in the league. Still, leading rusher for the Jags is Denard Robinson, who is out for the season with a foot injury. Toby Gerhart was decent in the loss to the Ravens and he will have to run the ball well in this game.
The Titans have rotated QBís all season and with the play they have got at that position they may want to think about spending their high pick on a signal caller. Charlie Whitehurst got the start in the loss to the Jets and while he did have over 200 passing yards with 0 INT he did not throw a TD and completed less than 50% of his passes. Delane Walker and Nate Washington, who had over 100 receiving yards last week, lead the WR corps with Kendall Walker out with a hand injury.
Shonn Greene was the leading rusher for the Titans last week with 50 yards and he only averaged 3.1 yards per carry.
The Jaguars only rank 21st in the league defending the pass and 27th defending the run, but their D has not been that bad in the last few weeks.
Jacksonville: 2-12 SU 4-9-1 ATS
The Titans are 6-18-2 ATS in their last 26 games overall, 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games, and they have an Under record of 6-2 in their last 8 road games vs. a team with a losing home record.
The Jags are 4-11-2 ATS in their last 17 games overall, 7-15-2 ATS in their last 24 games following a S.U. loss, and they have an Under record of 7-3 in their last 10 games.
The Jags are 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 games against the Titans.
In the last 4 games between these 2 teams in Jacksonville the total has gone Under every time.
