Odds To Win 2011/2012 Super Bowl

Super Bowl 46 betting odds for all 32 teams.

New England Patriots +500

The Pats have the lowest odds to win the Super Bowl this season and reigning MVP Tom Brady leads a dynamic offense with a solid WR corps and an underrated rushing attack. The team gambled taking a couple of players with character issues in WR Chad Ochocinco and DT Albert Haynesworth and if any coach can keep these guys in line it is Bill Belichick. The D was killed in the air last season and while their secondary is young and talented they need to improve. 2nd round pick DB Ras-I Dowling may have been a draft steal and may help the pass D right away. The Pats are stacked and poised for another Super Bowl run, but they may play the toughest schedule in the league.

Green Bay Packers +750

Aaron Rodgers led the Pack to the Super Bowl title last season and the passing offense is solid and the rushing offense, which struggled in the regular season, may be much better this season with a healthy Ryan Grant and a solid backup in James Starks. Charles Woodson and Clay Mathews lead a formidable defense, but defending the run is still an issue in Green Bay. Much like the Pats the Packers play a killer schedule.

Philadelphia Eagles +700

The Eagles made a ton of off-season moves not only getting the most coveted free agent in CB Nnamdi Asomugha, but also QB Vince Young, RB Ronnie Brown, WR Steve Smith, DL’s Cullen Jenkins and Jason Babin. Michael Vick leads a great offense and the D, which ranked 15th against both the pass and the run in 2010, may be a much improved unit this season. I think +700 is a betting steal for the much improved Eagles.

San Diego Chargers +1000

Phillip Rivers had a stellar season in 2010 and that was with a sketchy WR corps. However, with Vincent Jackson back and a healthy Antonio Gates the Chargers may have the most potent pass offense in the league. RB Ryan Mathews has to stay healthy and show he can be the lead back in San Diego. On D the Chargers ranked 4th in the league last season, but giving up the big play was their main problem. They bolstered their D in the draft taking Corey Liuget in the first round and DB Marcus Gilchrist in the 2nd round. Once again, the Chargers have to avoid a terrible start.

Pittsburgh Steelers +1400

Big Ben and Rashard Mendenhall lead a solid Pittsburgh offense, but the D will be the Steelers strength again. The run defense was the best in the NFL last season and the pass defense ranked 12th. S Troy Polamalu must stay healthy, as he makes the Steelers a stellar defensive team.

New York Jets +1400

Mark Sanchez has a couple new targets in WR Derrick Mason and Plaxico Burress and the team re-signed Santonio Holmes. Still, for New York to win it all the duo of LaDainian Tomlinson and Shonn Greene have to repeat their 2010 season where they led the Jets to the 4th best rushing offense in the league. The D will not be an issue, as they are solid defending the pass and the run.

Atlanta Falcons +1500

The Falcons took a risk moving up in the draft to take WR Julio Jones and teamed up with QB Matt Ryan, RB Michael Turner, TE Tony Gonzalez, and WR Roddy White the Atlanta offense may be unstoppable. The D is the issue for the Falcons, especially against the pass.

New Orleans Saints +1600

To get back to the Super Bowl the Saints need to run the ball and keep their RB corps healthy. Reggie Bush is out and 1st round pick Mark Ingram and free agent Darren Sproles are in the Big Easy. Drew Brees will have another good season and the D is solid, but the rushing offense is the key to the Saints’ success this season.
