The Chargers come into this game after beating the Tennessee Titans 17-6 in the first round of the Playoffs. The Colts had a bye last week but in their last game of the season lost to the Tennessee Titans 16-10. The Chargers have been playing as good as anyone the last part of the season but will have to have a better offensive game than they did last week to have any chance against the Colts. The Chargers are led by QB Phillip Rivers, who against the Titans was 19/30 for 282 with 1 TD and 1 INT. In that game the Chargers rushed for 68 yards averaging 2.1 yards per rush. On defense the Chargers gave up 119 yards rushing to the Titans (4.0 yards per rush) but held them to only 129 yards passing with 1 INT. QB Peyton Manning, who against the Titans was 14/16 for 148 yards with 1 TD in limited duty, leads the Colts. In that game the Colts rushed for 46 yards averaging 4.6 yards per rush. On defense the Colts gave up 98 yards rushing to the Titans (2.5 yards per rush) and 258 yards passing.

Even though the Chargers played great in the second half of the season they will have to deal with a Colts team that has a great offense and a great defense. If this game becomes a shootout the Colts definitely have the advantage. Chargers running back LeDanian Tomlinson will have to have a big game for the Chargers to have a shot. The Chargers are a great team but the Colts have too many playmakers and one of the best QB's in the game. Look for the Colts to win this game handily and cover the spread.
