The San Diego Chargers come into this game after losing 30-16 against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Denver Broncos lost to the Indianapolis Colts 38-20. This is a huge early season AFC West Match up as the Chargers cannot afford to go to 1-4 this early in the season and the Broncos need a victory to stay near the top of the division. The Broncos are led by QB Jay Cutler who was ineffective against the Colts going 13/21 for 131 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT. The Broncos rushed for an impressive 223 yards averaging 6.2 yards per rush. The Broncos D gave up 226 yards rushing (6.1 yards per rush) and only 193 yards passing but gave 3 TD. The Chargers are led by Phillip Rivers who played poorly against the Chiefs going 21/42 for 211 yards and 2 INT. The Chargers rushed for 133 yards averaging 5.5 yards per rush. The Chargers D held the Chiefs to only 126 yards rushing (4.5 yards per rush) but 264 yards passing.
