The New York Giants come into this game after beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 24-14 in the first round of the playoffs. The Dallas Cowboys had a bye last week and in their season finale lost to the Washington Redskins 27-6 in a meaningless game for them. The Giants hope that the third time is the charm, as they lost both games against the Cowboys this season. QB Eli Manning, who against the Bucs was 20/27 for 185 yards with 2 TD, leads the Giants. In that game the Giants rushed for 100 yards averaging 3.3 yards per rush. On defense the Giants held the Bucs to only 69 rushing yards (3.1 yards per rush) and 207 passing yards with 1 TD and 2 INT. QB Tony Romo, who against the Redskins was 7/16 for 86 yards and 1 TD in limited duty, leads the Cowboys. In that game the Cowboys rushed for only 1 yard averaging 0.1 yards per rush. On defense the Cowboys gave up 131 yards rushing to the Redskins (3.5 yards per rush) and 233 yards passing with 1 TD.

The Cowboys have the home field advantage but it may actually be better for the Giants who were 8-1 on the road this year including beating the Bucs in Tampa Bay last weekend. The game will depend on if Eli Manning of most of the regular season shows up, who was inconsistent, or the one that has been the Giants QB for the last two weeks, which has played well. Cowboys are hoping Terrell Owens can play but a high ankle sprain will still hamper him. Look for the Cowboys to start slow, as they typically do, but beat up on the Giants as the game goes on.
