Over/Under: OFF

Time: 8 PM EST Saturday September 7, 2013 on ESPN / WatchESPN

Notre Dame and Michigan each had easy wins in their season opener and this is the first real test for both teams with each being ranked in the top 25. The first game without star QB Denard Robinson went well for Michigan in the season opener with the Wolverines having their highest-scoring opener since 1905. Notre Dame only gave up 6 points in their win over Temple, but they did give up 362 yards on defense.

Last season at home Notre Dame beat Michigan 13-6.

In their opening games Michigan beat Central Michigan 59-9 and Notre Dame beat Temple 28-6.

This season Michigan is 1-0 ATS with an Over/Under record of 1-0 and Notre Dame is 0-1 ATS with an Over/Under record of 0-1.

Michigan QB Devin Gardner did not have a great opening game with 162 yards with 2 TD, but he was 10/15 and did pass for a TD. He has a decent WR corps, but they are young and will face a Notre Dame pass defense that allowed Temple to gain 228 yards in the air.

The Fighting Irish gave up 134 rushing yards in the win over Temple and they will face a Michigan team that gained 242 yards on the ground against Central Michigan.

Michigan should be very well rested for this game, as in the win over Central Michigan they were up was up 35-6 at halftime and brought in backups, including freshman QB Shane Morris, in the 3rd quarter.

Notre Dame QB Tommy Rees got off to a great start to the season passing for 346 yards with 3 TD and 0 INT in the win over Temple. He connected with WR DaVaris Daniels on a pair of 32-yard TD passes in the first 2 possessions of the game and WR TJ Jones had 6 catches for 138 yards in the game.

Michigan has a solid defense and in the win over Central Michigan they were dominant only giving up 66 rushing yards and 144 passing yards. On top of that they knocked out CMU's starting QB and RB, as each left with severe injuries.

Notre Dame will face a good Wolverines' run defense and in the Temple win the Fighting Irish were solid rushing for 188 yards. In that game the RB duo of Amir Carlisle rushed for 68 yards and Cam McDaniel rushed for 65 yards.
