NFC West Betting Preview
While the AFC West is the weakest division in the AFC the NFC West is the weakest division in the NFC. The Cardinals are the favorites in the division, but the 49ers and Seahawks have a decent shot at the title while the Rams are a long shot.
Here are the odds at Bodog to win the NFC West this season.
Arizona Cardinals 2.35/1
The Cardinals won the NFC West, as well as the NFC Championship, last season and they are favorites to repeat. They re-signed QB Kurt Warner and they may have got the steal in the draft taking RB Chris Wells in the 1st round. Warner has to have another good season and keep from turning the ball over. The defense ranked 19th last season, but they played well in their Super Bowl. They signed free agent CB Bryant McFadden and used their 2nd and 3rd picks in the draft taking defensive players.

San Francisco 49ers 3.5/1
The 49ers are a young team that has a lot of talent, but some big concerns. Former #1 pick Alex Smith is pushing to get his starting job back and has looked good in camp so far. WR Michael Crabtree fell the 49ers with the 10th pick in the 1st round, but he may hold out for more money and if he does not sign it will be a big blow. RB Frank Gore is a still solid and he will be helped by 2nd round draft pick Glen Coffee. The 49ers defense was pretty solid last season, as they ranked 13th, but their secondary needs to improve considering every team in the NFC West has a legit passing offense. If their D plays well and they get some solid production from whoever the QB is the 49ers have a shot to win this wide-open division.
Seattle Seahawks 3.10/1
The injury bug hit the Seahawks hard last season, but if they stay healthy Seattle may surprise some teams this season. Matt Hasselback is healthy and he has a big new weapon in off-season addition WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh. Seattle's rushing offense was poor last season and Julius Jones has to rebound from a sub-par season. The Seahawks D ranked 30th last season and their secondary was horrid and they could not get to the opposing QB. They used their 1st round pick on OLB Aaron Curry, but there are still many holes on defense.
St Louis Rams 11/1
The injury bug also bit the Rams last season. Both QB Mark Bulger and RB Stephen Jackson have to stay healthy for the Rams to have any chance of winning the NFC West. The rams have talent on offense, but their main concern is on defense. Last season they ranked 31st against the run, 30th against the pass, 31st in points allowed and 28th in yardage surrendered. St. Louis had a busy off-season to help their D with the free agent addition of S James Butler and early draft picks of ILB James Laurinaitis, and CB Bradley Fletcher. The Rams used their 1st round pick on OT Jason Smith and he will need to produce right away to protect Bulger and open up holes for Jackson. The Rams may be better then last year's team, but winning the NFC West is unlikely.
