NFC North Betting Preview
Well, the Vikings don't have Favre, as of now, but they still will battle with the Bears and Packers for the NFC North title. The Lions will probably not be a factor in the division, but it is unlikely that they will go winless again.
Here are the odds at Bodog to win the NFC North this season.
Chicago Bears 2.85/1
The Bears finally have a decent QB under center with the trade for Jay Cutler. However, they had to decimate their draft to get him and he does not have many proven weapons. WR Devin Hester is solid, but the other WR's may be rookies Juaquin Iglesias and Johnny Knox. RB Matt Forte had a great rookie season and if the Bears' passing attack struggles he will have to carry a big workload. The Bears' D ranked 21st last season and while they were good against the run they were horrid against the pass. They were hurt by injuries in the secondary and rookie CB D.J. Moore fell in the draft, but is talented. The Bears have a good team, but there are some question marks and Cutler can't do it all.

Detroit Lions 16/1
At least the Lions do not have Matt Millen any longer, as they actually had a good draft including taking QB Matt Stafford with the #1 pick. Daunte Culpepper will probably begin the season as the starter, but if the Lions start the season with a few losses Stafford may get the nod. The offense has some other young studs in RB Kevin Smith, WR Calvin Johnson, and 18th pick in the draft TE Brandon Pettigrew. The Lions will have a whole new defense this season, as they drafted 4 players on D and signed several free agents and they can't get any worse then last year when they ranked dead last.
Green Bay Packers 3/1
The Packers are in year 2 without Favre and in year 1 QB Aaron Rodgers played well, but he needs some help. Green Bay needs to get more yards on the ground, as even though Ryan Grant had over 1,000 yards he did not average over 4 yards per carry. They have a solid WR corps and a decent line, but Grant needs to take some pressure off Rodgers. The Packers have a good secondary, but stopping the rush was a major problem last season. Green Bay addressed that need by their two 1st round picks of NT B.J. Raji and OLB Clay Matthews.
Minnesota Vikings 2.6/1
Since Favre is staying retired, for now, Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels will battle it out for the starting QB job. Their play at QB is crucial, as they have all the tools in a solid D and stud RB Adrian Peterson. 1st round pick WR Percy Harvin will bring some excitement to the Land of 10,000 Lakes, as he will line up on the outside, return kicks, and may even run the Wildcat offense for a few plays. The Vikings did not have any high draft picks, but they did get some great positional needs, especially in OT Phil Loadholt with the 54th pick and CB Asher Allen with the 86th pick. It helps that the Vikings play a weak schedule, as in their first 5 games none of the teams they face had a winning record last season.
