NFC East Betting Preview
Philadelphia Eagles - 7-4: The Eagles bounced back from an injury-plagued 2005 season to win the East for the fifth time in six seasons last year. This year, they added OLB Takeo Spikes to upgrade a weak LB unit and signed WR Kevin Curtis to replace WR Donte' Stallworth. The Eagles defense was on a par with Dallas last season (15th to 13th) but they lack the playmakers the Cowboys have. Offensively, the Eagles are the class of the division but were close to Dallas in yardage and points scored. They have the best QB in the East in Donovan McNabb and he'll have to stay healthy for them to secure another title. RB Brian Westbrook really emerged last year proving he could be a workhorse. The Eagles have the best head coach in Andy Reid and the most stability in the front office. While their draft this season left something to be desired, they are still our choice to win another division crown.
Dallas Cowboys - 7-4: The Cowboys were a chip shot FG away from advancing in the playoffs before QB Tony Romo muffed the snap. As a starting QB, he should never have been the holder anyway. HC Bill Parcells lost his will again and retired paving the way for Wade Phillips, perhaps the league's best 3-4 practitioner, to assume the top job. The 'Boys didn't make lots of changes and hope Romo's progression and the defense's growth in the 3-4 will get the team over the hump. They are a serious challenger to the Eagles.

New York Giants - 5-2: The Giants come into the 2007 season with a lot of questions. RB Tiki Barber retired leaving a gaping hole in the offense. His 2,127 total yards from scrimmage will be hard to replace. HC Tom Coughlin is on the hot seat and the team will need to make the playoffs for him to keep his job. QB Eli Manning also has to develop some consistency to his game. With major questions at LT, OLB and the secondary, the Giants aren't a serious threat for the division title.
Washington Redskins - 9-2: The Redskins are spinning their wheels and have done little since HC Joe Gibbs took over. They have neglected the draft, instead focusing on overpaying unproductive FAs. Jason Campbell enters the season as the undisputed No.1 QB and the tandem of RBs Clinton Portis and Ladell Betts will cause problems for defenses. The 'Skins have many questions on defense, especially an aging D-line. New MLB London Fletcher-Baker and rookie SS LaRon Landry will help but won't be enough. Not a threat to win the division.
