Missouri Tigers vs. Auburn Tigers Betting Pick
Opening Line: Auburn -2
Time: 4 PM EST Saturday December 7, 2013 on CBS
Auburn is coming off a HUGE win in the Iron Bowl and there is a chance they can play in the BCS title game if they beat Missouri in the SEC title game, but pass Ohio State in the BCS rankings if they beat Michigan State.
With their amazing win in dramatic fashion over Alabama in the Iron Bowl Auburn comes into this game with a ton of confidence. However. Missouri has won 4 straight, won 2 straight facing ranked teams, and matches up well to the strength of Auburn.
Auburn is mostly about the run and they have the nation's 5th ranked rushing attack. Missouri does not have a good pass defense, but their run defense is solid ranking 14th in the nation.
This is the first SEC meeting between these 2 schools, as Mizzou joined the conference last season and did not face Auburn.
In their last games Auburn beat Alabama 38-24 and Missouri beat Texas A&M 28-21.
Missouri is 10-1-1 ATS with an Over/Under record of 6-6 and Auburn is 10-2 ATS with an Over/Under record of 7-5.
This SEC title game is being held at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
Auburn rushed for 296 yards last week against a stout Alabama run defense and they face the same this week. Lead RB Tre Mason rushed for 164 yards last week and QB Mick Marshall rushed for 99. Marshall did not air it out much in the game and will Auburn change their game plan since Mizzou does not have a good pass defense?
Mizzou does have a solid run defense, but last week that unit did not play great allowing Texas A&M to rush for 184 yards.
Missouri used a very well balanced attack to beat Texas A&M with 238 passing yards and 225 rushing yards. QB James Franklin played well and now only does he have some solid targets, but he can run the ball, which he did against A&M with 80 rushing yards.
RB Henry Josey is key in this game and in the A&M win he did rush for 96 yards with a TD with most coming off a 57 yard run.
Auburn gave up over 200 yards in the air and on the ground in Alabama game and they have had their issues on defense this season, especially against the run. Overall, they rank 56th in the nation in run defense and only 100th in pass defense.Betting Trends
