Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles Betting Pick
Betting Odds
Opening Line: Eagles -1
Over/Under: 44.5
Time: 4:25 PM EST Sunday November 11, 2012 on FOX
Even though the season is only half over this game may be a MUST win for both the Cowboys and the Eagles, who are both sitting at 3-5. The Eagles may have the slight advantage, as they still have to face the Giants once while the Cowboys have already played them twice.
This game features a couple of more disappointing teams in the league, as the Cowboys and the Eagles had high hopes coming into the season. Philadelphia has lost 4 straight games while Dallas has lost their last 2 and 4 of their last 5. Both Tony Romo and Michael Vick have been plagued by turnovers this season and if Vick has another bad game he may be benched.
In their last games the Eagles lost to the New Orleans Saints 28-13 and the Cowboys lost to the Atlanta Falcons 19-13.
The Cowboys are 3-5 ATS with an O/U record of 3-5 and the Eagles are 1-6-1 ATS with an O/U record of 3-5.
While Vick and the Eagles are under a lot of pressure in their last loss to the Saints the Philly QB passed for 272 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT and RB LeSean McCoy rushed for 119 yards. Vick has many great targets, especially big play WR DeSean Jackson who is averaging over 16 yards per catch, but will be facing a Dallas pass D that has been good this season and ranks 5th in the league.
The Eagles need to feed McCoy early and often in this game, as the Cowboys allowed Atlanta’s Michael Turner to rush for over 100 yards last week and the more McCoy is successful running the ball the less Vick has a chance of creating the dreaded turnover.
Like Vick Romo has many solid targets and even in the Atlanta loss he passed for 321 yards. However, unlike the Cowboys the Eagles have struggled to defend the pass this season and their pass D only ranks 15th in the league. Romo actually has more turnovers than Vick and he has to be on the same page as his targets and not turn the ball over.
While Romo leads the Cowboys and their 3rd ranked passing offense their rushing offense only ranks 29th in the league. Felix Jones has not played well since DeMarco Murray has gone out with an injury and Murray is not expected to play in this game. The Eagles run defense ranks 15th in the league and in their 4-game losing streak they have not really faced a good rushing team.
