ODDS TO WIN THE BCS CHAMPIONSHIP

Oklahoma and Alabama have the lowest odds to win the BCS championship this season, but many other teams will be in the mix. To check out the latest BCS futures odds you can look at our updated odds as well as odds at BetOnline.

Oklahoma Odds: +375

Oklahoma may have the best defense in the nation this season and they return QB Landry Jones, who is a legitimate Heisman candidate. The Sooners return 17 starters from last season’s 11-2 squad and nothing less than the National Championship will be a disappointment for this season’s team. In 2 of their first 3 games they face 6th ranked Florida State and 21st ranked Missouri and those games may show if the Sooners can really win it all.

Alabama Odds: +450

Alabama lost QB Greg McElroy, RB Mark Ingram and WR Julio Jones to the NFL, but they still are stacked, especially on the defense side of the ball. The offensive line is solid returning 4 of 5 starters and the skill position players are talented, but untested. Facing Penn State in the 2nd game will be a big test for the Crimson Tide.

Florida State Odds: +900

The Seminoles are poised to win the ACC for the first time since 2005 and they will need E.J. Manuel to step up and fill the shoes of the departed Christian Ponder. The WR corps is solid and RB Chris Thompson averaged 6.4 yards per carry last season. FSU lost their 2 top LB’s and sophomore LB Chris Thompson is a future star and has to anchor the D this season. Their 3rd game of the season hosting top-ranked Oklahoma is HUGE and that is the only team they face besides Florida in their season finale that is ranked in the preseason.

LSU Odds: +1000

LSU is stacked on defense, even with the loss of CB Patrick Peterson, but the offense is the big question mark for the Tigers this season. Senior Jordan Jefferson has a solid WR corps, but he needs to improve upon a pass offense that ranked 107th in the nation last season. Also, RB Spencer Ware has the fill the shoes of the departed Steven Ridley. One main concern for the Tigers, besides their early season game facing Oregon, is the suspension of WR Russell Shepard for the opening Oregon game and Jefferson is being investigated for kicking a man in the face and may miss some time.

Oregon Odds: +1000

The Ducks ranked first in the nation in points per game last season and they return Heisman candidate RB LaMichael James and QB Darron Thomas. The offense will be stacked again, but the team did lose their top WR and 3 of their starting offensive lineman. The D was pretty solid last season, but they lost 5 starters from the front 7. Facing 4th ranked LSU in the season opener is a game with HUGE BCS implications.

Boise State Odds: +1400

The Broncos return QB Kellen Moore, who is an early season Heisman candidate, as well as most of their starters, but can Boise State win the BCS title even if they go undefeated since they are not in a BCS conference? Facing 19th ranked Georgia on the road is a key game for the Broncos.
