ODDS TO WIN THE BCS CHAMPIONSHIP

USC (+300) is once again the favorite to win the National Championship. The Trojans are stacked on both sides of the ball, as they feature one of the nation's best defenses and have a trio of stud WR's. The key to the Trojans success is if RB Allen Bradford lives up to his hype and if new QB Mark Sanchez plays well. If those two things happen the Trojans will be a tough team to beat in 2008. The game to watch is when Ohio State travels to USC in a huge non-conference game. The winner of that match up has the inside track on the title game.

Florida (+600) has returning Heisman winner Tim Tebow and a loaded offense and if their D plays well they could be playing for the National Title. Florida has a tough SEC schedule, as the conference is stacked and will be looking to stop Tebow from torching them. Ohio State (+1000) has one of the best defenses in the nation and one of the best RB's in Chris Wells. The Buckeyes play USC this season in Southern California, which should be a barnburner and may be a preview of the National Title game. Much like Florida the Buckeyes play a tough Big 10 conference schedule. Georgia is the pre-season #1 and they have a monster defense and a Heisman candidate at RB with Knowshon Moreno (1,334 yards, 14 TD's). The Bulldogs only allowed 3.3 yards per carry last season and their D line is even better this year. The Bulldogs have 2 tough conference road games against Florida and Auburn this year.

Texas (+1200) has the offense to compete for the BCS National Championship, but they key to their success is their defense, which was disappointment last year. The Longhorns can put a lot of points on the board, but their D needs to keep opposing teams from doing the same. Oklahoma (+900) has the best offensive line in the nation and a solid QB in Sam Bradford (3,121 yards, 36 TD's) and two solid RB's. The Sooners have a great defense, especially their secondary. The Sooners have a favorable schedule, as they do not play Missouri and they host Kansas.

Missouri (+1400) has Heisman candidate Chase Daniel (4,306 yards 33 TD's), who can carry them to the title, but teams will be gunning for him. The Tigers D ranked 5th in the Big 12 in 2007 and needs to play better if they are going to contend for the National Title. Tigers will be tested early opening their season against Illinois. Virginia Tech (+1400) is a solid team, but they do not have the talent that the top teams in the nation do and it does not help that they lost 10 starters. However, they are legit and if they put it together and there are some upsets they can get into the title game.

With all the tacked teams in college football this season it is hard to imagine that any dark horses can take the title. However, Auburn (+2000), Clemson (+2000) and LSU (+1200), who are rebuilding, can score some big wins and there are many upsets with the top teams, you never know.
