SEC Championship Game

No.1 Alabama (12-0) at No.2 Florida -9.5 (11-1) 4 PM ET Saturday December 6, 2008 on CBS

Last week the Gators beat Florida State 45-15 and the Crimson Tide beat Auburn 36-0. This is THE game for both teams, as the winner will get a shot to play for the National Championship. They key match up in this game will be the Tide and their 3rd ranked defense against the awesome offense of the Gators. The Gators have won 8 straight games and they have averaged over 50 points per game in that streak. Tim Tebow has climbed back in the Heisman race and if has a great game he may be the front-runner. For the Tide to win this game their 22nd ranked rushing offense will have to have a good game. That will not be easy against the Gators and their 7th ranked defense.

Big 12 Championship Game

No.4 Oklahoma -17 (11-1) vs. No.19 Missouri (9-3) 8 PM ET Saturday December 6, 2008 on ABC

Last week the Sooners beat Oklahoma State 61-41 while the Tigers lost to Kansas 40-37. The Sooners moved ahead of Texas in the BCS rankings, which is why they are in this game and have the shot to play for the National Title. This should be a barn-burner, as the Sooners have the nation's top ranked scoring offense and 3rd ranked passing offense while the Tiger rank 4th nationally in both scoring and passing offense. Sam Bradford is injured and will need surgery after this game, but luckily for the Sooners it is his non-throwing hand. Neither of these teams feature a good defense, as the Sooners rank 66th and the Tigers rank 91st. The punters for each team should get a lot of rest in this game. Texas and USC will really be rooting for the Tigers in this game, as if OU wins they both will have their National Title hopes dashed.

ACC Championship Game

No.18 Boston College -1 (9-3) at Virginia Tech (8-4) 1 PM ET Saturday December 6, 2008 on ABC

Last week the Golden Eagles beat Maryland 28-21 while the Hokies beat Virginia 17-14. The winner of this game will play in a BCS Bowl game. This game features 2 of the better defenses in the country, as the Golden Eagles rank 6th in the nation and the Hokies rank 8th. Both teams are pretty even offensively, as this should be a close game. Both teams rely on their running game, neither teams passing offense ranks in the top 100, and the defense that can stop the run will win this game. The Hokies have won 3 of their last 4 games and are undefeated at home this season.

No.23 Pittsburgh -2.5 (8-3) at Connecticut (7-4) 12 PM ET Saturday December 6, 2008 on ESPN

Last week the Panthers beat West Virginia 19-15 while the Huskies had the week off. This game does not mean much, as Cincinnati won the Big East title. However, each team can improve their Bowl positioning with a victory. Pitt is favored in this game, but the Huskies have the nation's 10th ranked offense and their rushing offense ranks 20th in the nation. Pitt has a better passing attack and the Panthers have won 3 of their last 4 games. The Huskies have not played well as of late, as they have lost 4 of their last 6 games after starting the season 5-0.
