Arizona Cardinals (9-1) vs. Seattle Seahawks (6-4)
The Seahawks are coming off a loss and disgruntled RB Marshawn Lynch was recently fined $100,000 for violating the league's media policy. Yeah, things are not going well for the defending champs, who trail the Cardinals by 3 games in the NFC West. Their next 5 games are killer having to face the Cardinals and 49ers twice as well as the NFC East leading Philadelphia Eagles.
While the Seahawks have issues the Cardinals have the best record in the NFL and they are riding a 6-game winning streak. Even without starting QB Carson Palmer the team beat the Lions last week behind a strong performance from backup Drew Stanton and a defense that held Detroit to 6 points.
The Seahawks are 6.5 points favorites at home, where they are 19-2 since the 2012 season. However, the Cardinals are the team that beat them in their house last season snapping Seattle's 14-game home winning streak.
In their last games the Cardinals beat the Detroit Lions 14-6 and the Seahawks lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 24-20.
The Cardinals are 8-2 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 3-6-1 and the Seahawks are 4-6 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 7-3.
This season the Seahawks are 4-1 at home and the Cardinals are 3-1 on the road.
Stanton is now 3-1 as the Arizona starter this season and in the win over the Lions he passed for over 300 yards. He has a solid WR corps led by the rejuvenated Larry Fitzgerald and will be tested facing a Seattle pass D that played well last week despite the loss and ranks 3rd in the league.
KC's Jamaal Charles torched the Seattle run D last week, but this Sunday they face Andre Ellington, who has been battling with an injury and is only averaging 3.4 yards per carry. However, he is a solid pass catching back that has 356 receiving yards.
Russell Wilson had a pretty good game against the Chiefs and Lynch rushed for 124 yards, but in the 4th quarter the offense stalled and failed to convert 3 late 4th down conversions. The Seahawks don't have a great WR corps and will face a KC pass defense that only ranks 29th in the league, but their pass rush has the 3rd most sacks.
Maybe the biggest match up in this game is Lynch facing an Arizona run defense that ranks 3rd in the league.
Seattle: 06-4 SU 4-6 ATS
The Cardinals are 6-2 ATS vs. a team with a winning record, 7-1 ATS in their last 8 road games, and they have an Under record of 3-1-1 in their last 5 games.
The Seahawks are 1-4 in their last 5 games, 15-6 ATS vs. a team with a winning record, and they have an Over record of 5-1 in their last 6 games.
The home team is 11-5 in the last 16 games between these 2 teams.
