AFC South Betting Preview

The AFC South may be the toughest division in the conference, as every team in the division has a shot to win the title.

Here are the odds at Bodog to win the AFC South this season.

Houston Texans 4/1
Things are looking up in the Lone Star State, as last season was the first one in the Texans' history that they did not end the season with a losing record (8-8). The key to them this season is QB Matt Schaub and his health. He has played will, but has missed 10 games due to injury in the past coupe of seasons. He and WR Andre Johnson are a great tandem and should lead Houston's legit offensive attack. The Texans had a decent defense last season and they may be better with the free agent signings of DE Antonio Smith and OLB Cato June, and drafting OLB Brian Cushing with the 15th pick. Those guys along with Mario Williams may prove to be a formidable defense.

Indianapolis Colts 2.5/1
Well, Marvin Harrison is no longer on the Colts, but they should still have a potent offense with Peyton Manning, WR's Reggie Wayne and Anthony Gonzalez, and TE Dallas Clark. The Colts had a great draft taking RB Donald Brown with their 1st pick who may give them some rushing offense, which they lacked last season. The big concern for the Colts is their rush defense, but drafting 2nd round pick DT Fili Moala and 4th round pick DT Terrence Taylor should help. The Colts' secondary is decent and if they can stop the run up front the Colts will not only be a legit threat to win the AFC South, but they will be a Super Bowl contender as well.

Jacksonville Jaguars 5/1
The Jaguars are talented, but last season injuries killed them. The injury bug on the offensive line especially killed them, which is why QB David Garrard and RB Maurice Jones-Drew had off years. The line is healthy and also added OT William Tra Thomas through free agency and OT Eugene Monroe with the 8th pick in the draft. The Jaguars passing offense may be better this season, as they drafted 3 WR's and signed free agent Torry Holt. The Jags' D ranked 17th last season and they were especially weak against the pass. They used a couple of draft picks to shore up their secondary, but that may not be enough.

Tennessee Titans 3.4/1
The Titans had an interesting off-season, as even though they had a solid draft they lost their best defensive player and their defensive coordinator. On top of that backup QB Vince young is now healthy and is not happy about being a backup to 38-year-old Kerry Collins. The Titans passing offense was a weakness last season, which is why they used their 1st round draft pick on WR Kenny Britt and bringing in WR Nate Washington through free agency. RB Chris Johnson had a great rookie season and with the improved Titans' passing offense he may have a huge season since opposing teams will not only focus on him. The Titans D ranked 7th last season, but they lost DT Albert Haynesworth, who is the best in the game at his position. Every draft pick the Titans had was solid and 89th pick TE Jared Cook may be one of the steals in the draft.
