AFC North Betting Preview
The AFC North may be a two-team race between the Ravens and the Steelers, while the Browns will be luck to get to .500 and the Bengals have a lot of question marks, but may be a surprise team this season.
Here are the odds at Bodog to win the AFC North this season.
Baltimore Ravens 4/1
The Ravens made the playoffs last season and the main reason was their stellar defense. Their D will, once again, be their strength, but many of their big guns on that side of the ball are in their 30's. Re-signing LB Ray Lewis was a big step in keeping their D together, but can the old guys get it done again? QB Joe Flacco had a solid rookie campaign, but the Ravens' WR corps is mediocre at best. Kind of a mystery that this last draft was loaded with legit WR's, but the Ravens did not select one even though that is their primary need. Baltimore should keep teams from scoring this season, but can they score themselves?

Cincinnati Bengals 10/1
The Bengals have Carson Palmer back and he has to stay healthy for them to have any shot this season. WR Chad Ochocinco has said he will not be a distraction this season and he is in the best shape of his career, but time will tell if he will be a distraction again. They had a good off-season by signing free agents WR Laveranues Coles and DT Tank Johnson. The Bengals drafted OT Andre Smith with their 1st round pick and even though his talent is not an issue his character is. 2nd round pick ILB Ray Maualuga was a solid choice in the 2nd round and he should help on D right away. The Bengals have some tools to work with and they may be legit this season, but there are many ifs in Cincinnati.
Cleveland Browns 13/1
The Browns go into the season with a competition at the QB sport between Derek Anderson and Brady Quinn. Besides the QB competition the Browns' offense may sputter with a less then stellar running game and a questionable WR corps. On top of everything they traded away TE Kellen Winslow Jr. The Browns defense was ranked 26th last season and they did not draft a defensive player until the 4th round. What gives? After winning 10 games a couple of seasons ago the Browns fell back to earth and won 4 last season. This season if they get to .500 it will be a major surprise.
Pittsburgh Steelers 1.42/1
The defending champion Steelers are the major favorites to win the AFC North and with good reason. They return 20 of 22 starters, had a solid draft, and the best defense in the league. Sure, the Steelers defense is awesome, but their offense is legit as well led by the trio of QB Ben Roethlisberger, RB Willie Parker, and WR Hines Ward. They only lost free agent WR Nate Washington, but they signed WR Shaun McDonald, who actually had better numbers then Washington last season. Pittsburgh had a solid draft day filling the few holes they have. Last season the Steelers played the toughest schedule in the NFL and they won the Super Bowl. This season they play one of the easiest, as they not only play the Browns and the Bengals twice, but they also face the Lions, Broncos, Chiefs, and Raiders.
