AFC East Betting Preview
The Patriots are, again, the favorites to win the AFC West and the main reason is because Tom Brady is healthy. The Dolphins were the surprise winner of the division last year, but they will not sneak up on anyone this season. The Bills have T.O., but they along with the Jets are long shots to win the AFC East this season.
Here are the odds at Bodog to win the AFC East this season.
Buffalo Bills 10.25/1
The Bills signed T.O. in the off-season and they have high hopes for him, but really could use a productive season from the volatile WR. QB Trent Edwards is a solid young QB, but he has to watch his backside this season since the Bills traded All Pro LT Jason Peters to the Eagles. One main key for the bills this season is staying healthy. Last season the Bills started the year 5-1 and then they had some key injuries and the wheels fell off. The Bills D was so-so last year, but they may be better this season with the addition of 1st round pick DE Aaron Maybin and adding 3 CB's in the draft.

Miami Dolphins 9.25/1
The Dolphins surprised everyone last season by winning the AFC East and making the playoffs. That will be harder to do this season since they play a killer schedule and other teams will not take them for granted. QB Chad Pennington had a fantastic season and needs to do that again this season for the fish to make the post season. The Dolphins' D may be improved this season since they signed free agents S Gibril Wilson and LB Jason Taylor and the drafted 2 CB's including 1st round pick Vontae Davis. The Dolphins will be tested on defense this season, as they not only play Brady and the Pats this season, but they also play the Falcons, Colts, Chargers, Saints, Titans, and Steelers. One player that will add some excitement to the offense is QB/WR Pat White, who was born to run the Wildcat.
New England Patriots 1.22/1
Brady is back on the field and he will have to stay there since the Pats traded away backup Matt Cassel to the Chiefs. With Brady healthy he and WR's Randy Moss and Wes Welker will likely light up the scoreboard this season. Free agent RB Fred Taylor had an off year last season, but was a solid pickup for the Patriots. New England's defense ranked 10th this season and they may be much better this season. They signed free agent CB's Leigh Bodden and Shawn Springs and they used 3 of their 4 2nd round draft picks to take defensive players. The Patriots are stacked again, but they may be in trouble again if Brady goes down with an injury.
New York Jets 9/1
The Jets are hoping that trading up for first round draft pick Mark Sanchez was the right move. The Jets have some solid tools, but they need some good QB play. Kellen Clemons has not proved he can be a starter, so Sanchez may be thrown in the mix right away. They have a solid running game with RB Thomas Jones and a decent receiving corps, but there are some question marks on defense. The Jets did sign ILB Bart Scott and CB Lito Sheppard, but that may not be enough. A lot is riding on Sanchez this season, but if he is solid the Jets may surprise some teams.
