Odds To Win The ACC Title

The ACC does not get the press as other major conferences, but last season they had 10 teams out of 12 that went to bowls. This season the ACC is up for grabs, as there are several teams that have legit chances to win the conference.

Here are the teams that have the best odds to win the ACC this season.

Virginia Tech Hokies +250
The Hokies are a tough team with the best odds in the conference, but their beginning of the season is a killer one playing Alabama and Nebraska. The Hokies strength is their defense and they have 6 returning starters. If their offense can produce some points the Hokies will be tough to beat. Tyrod Taylor is a great running QB and he may have to run more this season with the lack of proven WR's on the squad. RB Darren Evans is also a threat, but if Taylor does not have any passing threats opposing teams will stack the line to stop the run. The Hokies D will be their strength, as they have a solid front line and secondary.

Florida State Seminoles +250
The Seminoles have a great defense and their offensive line returns all 5 starters. The main concern is on offense, as they are an inexperienced bunch that may have trouble putting up points this season. LB Nigel Bradham is an early season favorite for the Butkus award. The Seminoles not only play a tough ACC schedule, but they also play South Florida and pre-season #1 Florida this season.

North Carolina State Wolfpack +600
The Wolfpack won their last 4 games last season and things are looking good for this season, especially since Russell Wilson developed into one of the best QB's in the conference. The Wolfpack have a solid offense, but their defense has to improve. Last season the Wolfpack D ranked last in the ACC. Their early season schedule is up and down playing two cream puffs and two solid teams in South Carolina and Pittsburgh.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets +700
The Yellow Jackets will field a good offense led by QB Jake Nesbitt and RB Jonathan Dwyer and slew of good young WR's. However, the offense has to put up points this season since the Jackets do not have a strong defense. Their defensive line lost 3 of 4 starters, but with the triple-threat offense the Jackets will run the defense does not have to shut teams down, but not have them run up the score against them.

North Carolina Tar Heels +275
T.J. Yates has the talent to be a legit QB, but he was up and down last season and must be more consistent this year. That will be even more difficult this season since both WR's Brandon Tate and Hakeem Nicks are in the NFL. The defense may be better this season, as they return several starters and DT Marvin Austin is a run stopping machine that can get to the opposing QB.

Clemson Tigers +500
The Tigers had high expectations last year and didn't produce and this season they do not have a lot of hype, but they are still talented. All 5 starters on the offensive line return and their D gets 8 starters back from a squad that ranked 13th in the nation last season in scoring. QB Cullen Harper is gone, so RB C.J. Spiller will be counted on to carry the offense. The Tigers do not play the toughest schedule, but playing at Georgia Tech in their 2nd game of the season will be a big test.

Miami Hurricanes +550
The Hurricanes return many starters this season and QB Jacory Harris will be counted on to carry the offense. The defense, which is led by LB Sean Spence, should be solid but the beginning of the season is a killer, as in the first 4 games the Canes play at Florida State, Georgia Tech, at Virginia Tech, Oklahoma. They have the talent to contend for the ACC title, but starting the season 0-4 is a distinct possibility.
